Safeguarding for Board Members, Directors & Trustees
Introduction
Board Members, Directors and Trustees have a unique set of responsibilities in Safeguarding and although much can, and possibly should, be delegated to frontline staff overall responsibility remains with the board.
This course has been designed to support you to understand your responsibilities and enable you to support front line workers effectively.
Aim
To understand the role and responsibilities of an effective board in Safeguarding.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course you will:

Understand the recent background to current Safeguarding and Child Protection legislation

Be able to recognise common Signs and Sypmtoms of Abuse

Have an understanding of the support needs of face to face workers (paid and unpaid)

Be motivated to putting the training into practice
Suitability
This course is suitable for anyone who is, or is considering becoming, a trustee, board member or director of an organisation(s) that has a duty to safeguard children and young people. It is particularly useful to undertake the training as a whole board allowing the trainer to focus on your specific situation and needs.
