Introduction to Safeguarding & Child Protection
Introduction
This one day course gives an overview of individuals and organisations responsibilities for Safeguarding and Child Protection and covers issues such as History, Signs and Symptoms, Creating a Safe Environment, Dealing with Disclosures and Concerns and Managing Allegations against Adults.
Aim
To develop your knowledge, attitudes and understanding of child protection and safeguarding so it is integrated into working practices and procedures.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the training you will be able to:
- Summarise the relevant elements of Safeguarding and Child Protection legislation
- Recognise common Signs and Symptoms of Abuse
- Describe how your Organisation Safeguards Children and Where It Can Improve
- Manage a Disclosure from a Young Person
- Use this knowledge and understanding to improve your own and your organisation’s practice
Suitability
Anyone with responsibility for the welfare of children and young people as a worker (paid or unpaid), manager or trustee, director or committee member. This is a good all round course covering all of the major topics in Safeguarding.
