Basic Introduction to Child Protection
Introduction
For anyone working with children and young people it is important to be aware of child protection issues and confident in implementing organisational procedures. This course is designed for all workers (paid or unpaid) who work face to face with children and young people.
Aim
To develop participants knowledge of the common signs and symptoms of abuse and how to pass on information appropriately.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Recognise common signs and symptoms of abuse
- Identify when a child or young person is trying to tell them something is wrong
- Pass on information appropriately
Suitability
This course is designed for anyone whose work may bring them into contact with children / young people, in a paid or unpaid capacity, but does not have direct responsibility for their welfare. Admin Workers, Placement Officers, Committee members, Contractors etc.
